Inspection explained

All education and training providers in Wales are inspected within six years of their last inspection.

Schools and other education and training providers are given four weeks' written notice of an inspection, with the exception of local authorities which receive 12 weeks’ notice. Our inspection schedule lists all forthcoming inspections.

All inspections are carried out by a team of specialist inspectors. Read more about their different roles.
